The two-year program will focus on neuropsychological assessment of children with Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and other related developmental disorders. Fellows will receive extensive training in neuropsychological assessment, as well as training in advocacy to learn how to intervene within the school system and help obtain the best support for our patients. Advocacy training is partly provided though a formal partnership with Advocates for Children, a premier educational law agency in NY. Fellows are encouraged to attend Psychiatry and Neurology Ground Rounds, and will be expected to participate in a weekly case conference. Individual supervision will be provided on a regularly scheduled basis.
The Lenox Hill Hospital Department of Psychiatry has had an active training program in Psychiatry and Psychology. Psychology training has been conducted continuously since 1980, at the start of our first externship. In addition to the students who participate in our APA-approved internship, the department has six externs. Two of the externs are part of CAL. The CAL staff includes three staff psychologists, four post-doctoral neuropsychology fellows, and a social worker. Interested applicants should send a CV, two letters of reference, a graduate transcript and a sample neuropsychological report by January 23, 2013.
Confirmation of completion (or progress toward the doctorate) should be forwarded by the candidate's Program Director. Please contact Dr. Peter Pramataris at 212-434-6561 for further information. Send all materials to: Peter Pramataris, Psy.D. Clinical Director The Center for Attention and Learning 210 East 64th Street, Fourth Floor New York, NY 10065 or electronically to: ppramataris@nshs.edu
