SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - The National Weather Service has confirmed a weak tornado was responsible for some minor damage over the weekend in southwest Missouri.
Meteorologist Mike Griffin says investigators determined that an EF-0 tornado touched down near Willard Saturday night.
The weather service planned to investigate Monday to determine if weak tornadoes also touched down near Halltown and Miller.
A series of storms moved across America?s midsection on Saturday, dumping buckets of rain across much of the region and prompting many colleges and universities in the system?s path to delay or postpone football games.
There were no reports of any serious injury or damage in the tornado in Willard or any of the other storms Saturday.
